It’s nice to see him taking life easier these days – this is his THIRD shop!  All in Luxor, Egypt…

It’s good to see that a few Overseas Visitors Club (OVC) identities are still getting together and raising a glass (or 6)… In these pictures, just in from Lester, are (in no particular order) Jenny Goble, Gill Murdoch, Alan Stevens, Phillip Jacobson, David Lawson and Lester Jolly.

2.5km run + 1km swim + 2.5km – be back in half an hour… It’s called an Aquathlon – but he had a different phrase for it!  There’s more pictures here.

Two days ago – in London – a few of our old friends from the Overseas Visitors Club got together for lunch…  L-R – Lester Jolly,  Annette Crossley, Margie Ellis, Eric Muller and Maxine Hitchcock – none of us have changed at all – except…  I’ve just counted the bottles – looks like just 2 per person.  Ah well – guess we are slowing down a bit!

When she was little – we were regular visitors to Ten Ichi Restaurant at the Imperial Hotel in Tokyo – but she always insisted we carry in a Big Mac in a brown paper bag – just for her…  25 years later – she’s still a fussy eater!  I worked it out – the price differential (between Ten Ichi and El Bulli) is about 3:1  Hungry? A special night for Queenslanders – four years in a row!  You guys over there – talk amongst yourselves…

My first fishing trip… “You’d be proud of me today.  With a few other chums from Ickham, we went fishing in the Channel out of Dover.  I caught a couple of cod, a couple of whiting, and some nasty little critter which has a stingy barb as sharp as a hyperdermic needle on its back.  P says it is the tastiest (and freshest) cod she has ever eaten…”  “Ascot next week and then I’m in France for a week, then Henley.  But apart from Scotland we’re here all the summer…”
