On January 1, 1967 – We Were in Mijas…

December 10, 2009

I found this old poster a few days ago!  New Year’s Day 1967 – we were in Mijas… Our first Bullfight – in the only square bullring in the world.  The Matador was a youngster (like us) and billed as Miguel Marquez…  Followers of this Blog will know what happened to us during the last 40 years – but what happened to the Bullfighter?

He fought his last bull – and retired in 2002.  Strange, so did I…

A Canadian Comes Calling…

October 23, 2009

We don’t get together often enough – and it only lasted 10 days (with a conference jammed in there somewhere) but we managed to pack in some action… more pictures here…

British newspaper salutes Canada…  this is a good read.  It is funny how it took someone in England to put it into words…  Sunday Telegraph Article From today’s UK wires:  ‘Salute to a Brave and Modest Nation’ – Kevin Myers,  ‘The Sunday Telegraph’ LONDON…

Keith’s Pictures…

Still Life
A study in still life? No…
Just a Canadian catching up on lost sleep.  Keith’s pictures have just arrived – some look so good – they are probably Peter’s pictures of Keith… on the Le Mans, TorremolinosTunis pages.

Great News… I’ve found her!

November 9, 2005

Le Mans
Maman and the Doctor are still around and forwarded the letter to her.  We are invited back to their home next year!  Florence is now living in Paris. Sylvie lives in Hong Kong and comes to France every few weeks.  I’ll send Florence a detailed up-date on the three of you…

Since we can’t edit each other’s entries…

The other lovely people
…Forgive me this one observation… I would not have left you guys for something as mundane as “duty at Old Fort Henry”…

I was asked to come back by government for our centennial celebrations to become Batallion Sergeant-Major/Chief Training Instructor of the “world famous” Fort Henry Guard…  Just so you appreciate the difficulty I had in leaving you lovely people…  K

Found the Drouin Address!

November 4, 2005

Florence
I’ll mail this letter to-morrow if… but I’ve also got (Florence’s) phone number.

I’ll try that first. If no luck, I’ll mail the letter.
Wouldn’t it be great to re-connect?

I’d Forgotten…

November 4, 2005

Le Mans
I’d forgotten our nights at the cafe before we moved in to the Seminary (yes – we really should stop off for a few days in Le Mans on the way south). I well remember our playing table foot-ball among ourselves at Le Tertre Rouge and then with the locals for the “championship du monde”. I’d love to see those pics from Le Mans - I don’t think I ever have??  PS… I can’t find my old address book – Its not lost, just mis-placed but I do have the Drouin’s address in it.

Anyone reading in Le Mans, France? Please help us find the Drouin Family again…

Dr & Mdm Drouin

We spent two or three very pleasant days with Dr and Mrs Drouin – and most importantly – Sylvie and Florence.  If there is anyone (reading this) who has contact with the family or knows their current whereabouts – please let us know.  In French or English to:  kdebpercy[at]rogers[dot]com
